The Éislek is a real angler’s paradise, because its lakes and watercourses are teeming with fish. Trout, pike, pikeperch, eel, carp and numerous other fish species cavort. The fishing permit is compulsory for Luxembourg’s inland waters as well as the waters that border Germany. Different categories of fishing permits are available depending on the fishing areas and their period of validity. At the Upper Sauer barrier lake fishing is allowed in the protection zone 2.
